• Recipe Data: You input recipe information manually or via scanning recipe cards. This data is stored on your device and is used to create and manage your digital recipe book. Images are transmitted to OpenAI for AI/OCR transcription.
• Book Order Data: When you purchase a hard copy of your cookbook, we collect and store your email address, shipping information, and cookbook details. This information is required to email a copy of your receipt, contact you in the event of a problem with your order, and ship your printed cookbook. Your payment is handled by Stripe and is subject to their privacy policies.
• Transaction Data: If you subscribe to services through Google Play Store or Apple App Store, we do not collect or store your payment information. This information is handled by the respective store platforms and is subject to their privacy policies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the functionality of Reciscan.
• Communicate with you, including responding to your inquiries.
• Enhance and optimize the app based on usage and performance analytics.

Third-Party Services and AI Processing

We use a third-party AI service provided by OpenAI to analyze and process images of recipe cards, converting them into digital data for the app. This service may access the images you upload solely for the purpose of processing and is not used for any other form of data collection or advertising. Your payment information is collected and processed by Stripe if you choose to order a physical copy of your cookbook. Our printing and shipping partner is Lulu.com.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect non-personally identifiable information to help us understand how users and visitors use our app and website. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as page views, referrers, and approximate geographic location. This data helps us improve our website and user experience.
