Reciscan is the easiest way to get your recipes into a printed book to share with family, friends or to sell at fundraising events! Recipes can be scanned with your phone's camera and instantly transcribed with AI. From there the process is just organising the recipes into chapters, setting a book title/author info, picking a cover and sending it to the printer.. all from within the app!
There is a convenient 'New Recipe' button right on the main screen! You will be prompted to select either 'scan with your phone's camera' or 'enter manually'.
Yes, subscribers have the option to upload custom book covers. Our books are 6:9 and the printing process works best with high-resolution images. We recommend 1850x2775 pixels.
Subscribers can invite recipe contributors to add recipes to their cookbook with the 'Share Code'. The Share Code can be found at the top of the Menu screen (hamburger button at the top right of the main screen).
The Reciscan app is free to use. You will be prompted for payment if you choose to print your book with our printing service. Monthly subscribers also get special benefits, including the option to invite recipe contributors, ability to upload custom book covers and a deep discount off of every printed book!
A typical 50 page book with a black/white interior costs about $18. The same book for a subscriber will be about $13. The price is based on the number of pages and whether or not the interior will include color.
If you have been invited to contribute to a Reciscan subscriber's cookbook, you will receive a 'Share Code' from them. To share a Recipe, go to the recipe and click 'Recipe Options' on the top right and then click 'Share' to be prompted for the share code.
No, but your book can not be printed if it contains more than 400 pages.
Typical shipping times vary by location, but you can usually expect to receive your book in 14 days or less depending on your selected shipping option. You can see the latest information about your print order and expected arrival dates by clicking on the Menu button at the top right and selecting 'Book Orders'.
We recommend JPG or PNG images. Cookbook covers should be 1850x2775 pixels. Images of a different size will be scaled and cropped to fit.
There is a section for personal notes for each recipe. Users can also add a Preface and 'About the Author' section along with a photo of the author.
Your recipes stay in your phone and you can still order cookbooks. However, you will no longer receive the subscriber discount on printed books and will no longer have the ability to upload custom covers or receive shared recipes.

We use artificial intelligence to transcribe and interpret your recipe cards. AI has advanced a lot in recent years, but it still isn't perfect. There is still a good chance that AI won't understand what the written words on your recipe card are trying to say, or the app itself may not have the options to support your instructions. If you have suggestions, please do email support@reciscan.app!

The latest shipping information should be available in the app. Click the menu button (three horizontal lines in the top right) and go to 'Book Orders'.
Reciscan only generates the PDF file itself, your device decides what PDF viewer to display it with based on your iOS or Android configuration choices.
